Orthopedic Physical Therapy includes evaluation and treatment of various Musculo-Skeletal conditions focusing on Bone, Muscle Tendon and Ligament pathologies/injuries. Some of the conditions include but not limit to Tendinopathies, Tendonitis, Ligament Sprains/Tears, Muscle strain/tear, Labral tears, Meniscal tears, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fractures, Rotator Cuff Tear, ACL ,LCL, MCL Tears, Joint Pain , Joint swelling, stiffness, Muscle weakness, Muscle tightness, and various Arthroscopic Repairs, Joint replacement surgeries. Orthopedic Physical therapy helps in reducing pain, improving joint ROM, flexibility, strength and functional mobility. General orthopedic Pain treatment areas include: Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hip, Knee, Ankle, Foot, Pelvis, SI joints, Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar regions.
Spine Physical therapy is designed to for prevention, treatment and diagnoses of various spinal conditions such as Herniated discs, Spinal stenosis, Spondylolisthesis, Scoliosis, Radiculopathy, Sciatica, Para spinal muscle spasms, Kyphosis, Flat Back syndrome, Low back, mid back , Thoracic and Neck Pain. Physical therapists utilize various spine specific physical therapy techniques such as McKenzie’s MDT, cervical/thoracic/Lumbar mobilizations, Schroth’s method for Scoliosis, evidence based therapeutic exercises, and manual therapy.
Pre-operative Physical therapy reduces the recovery time after surgical procedures such as ACL repair, Total joint arthroplasty, helps reduce the time to achieve functional goals. Pre-op Rehabilitation focuses on achieving a better ROM, strength, mobility, reducing pain and swelling. Engaging in pre-op rehab prepares you to ease through the post-operative rehab measures.
Post-Surgical Physical therapy rehabilitation ensures your body heals and recovers properly after a surgery. Patients are gradually progressed through different levels of rehabilitation phases to help them return to their pre-surgery level of function.
A posture assessment is performed to determine faulty movement patterns, muscles imbalances or Postural deviations. Faulty postures can lead to mechanical low back pain, neck pain, upper/mid-back pain, functional scoliosis, kyphosis and other postural syndromes. It is an observational analysis of the overall alignment of the joints, surface anatomy, or simply an observation of how your body has adapted to life through abnormal compensatory patterns. Based upon the findings of posture analysis, individualized treatment plans are developed.
Whether you are a person who is slightly more sedentary, participate in HIIT, Cross Fit, an athlete or an absolute beginner in the field of fitness we got you covered. Pre-hab and wellness screens can identify the small aches and pains that are sometimes overlooked by patients. These small discomforts can be stopped from becoming bigger issues through timely PT wellness screens and treatments. Injury prevention program focuses on identification and treatment of dysfunctions through a progressive strength training, conditioning and performance enhancement.
Balance and gait analysis is performed in an effort to determine the stability and mobility of an individual. These tests are most commonly used as a part of injury prevention and return to sport programs. Standardized functional scales and tests such as Y-balance test, BERG balance and Tinneti balance scales may be used depending upon patient’s age and level of function.

Therapeutic techniques to train (or re-train) your muscles, your brain, and the nerves used for them to communicate with each other to improve movement, strength, balance, and function.

Functional Training

Customized training programs to prepare your body for life’s daily movement and activities using whole body integration – engaging multiple joint and muscle groups as well as the brain to work together.

Electrical Stimulation

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) or E-Stim uses low voltage electrical current to provide pain relief and stress in soft tissues.

Hot / Cold Therapy

Ice packs are used for acute injuries or pain, along with inflammation and swelling. Heat packs for muscle pain or stiffness.

Ultrasound

Application of sound waves to cause microscopic vibrations in deep tissue molecules to warm and increase metabolism for pain relief and to promote tissue healing.
